Albuferia

We arrived at Camping Albuferia and initially booked two nights.  We liked it here so much we stayed for two weeks!

It was another one of those ‘park where you like’ sites so we drove round for a while looking for the perfect spot.  We finally found it at the top of the hill in direct sunlight all day.

The campsite had a nice restaurant, clean hot showers and a large swimming pool.  Although the pool was cold, I did venture in for a few seconds in the 2nd week.

There were quite a few English people on site and they organised a Sunday roast dinner sitting overlooking the pool, which gave us a chance to talk to some other people.

The town was about a 40 minute walk away through a park that had gym equipment dotted throughout it.  We were really impressed with the sanitising units that were either side of the equipment.

There was an underpass under the road that had incredible paintings of marine life and a sculpture rising up to the roundabout above.

The town itself was on the side of a hill with no high rise buildings.  The streets were narrow with lots of quirky shops and sculptures made from washers.

The beach was stunning, our first beach in Portugal.  There were a couple of restaurants overlooking the sea where we had lunch a couple of times, including on our 2nd wedding anniversary.  What better way to celebrate.
