I have heard quite a lot about Torremolinos so we thought we would go and have a look.\u00a0 The first challenge was finding somewhere to park, there seems to be only one campsite, so we headed there.\u00a0 As we approached we saw another van in front of us but the turned off the A-7 a bit early.\u00a0 We pulled into the campsite with the other van arriving behind us shortly after.\u00a0 As we booked in we realised we had taken the last pitch as the van behind us was turned away.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Feeling a little guilty, but also relieved, we pitched up.\u00a0 The campsite was quite small but had everything we needed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

We headed off to the beach.\u00a0 It was a bit of a walk down a hill to the coast but well worth it.\u00a0 The beach was huge with restaurants sat on it.\u00a0 It was really busy, a guess it was Sunday.\u00a0 We walked for about 5km until we decided to join the queue to get in.\u00a0 After about an hour of waiting we finally got a table on the beach.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A lot of the food was being cooked outside in what looked like old boats, the smell was amazing.\u00a0 After dinner we went back to the van to get some sleep.\u00a0 The next morning we headed back down the hill and set off to explore.\u00a0 The old town had lots of narrow streets with buildings built into the rocks.\u00a0 We headed to Calle San Miguel, which is the main street with lots of bars and shops although whether its out of season or due to Covid, many of them were closed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After a while we decided to head back to the front.\u00a0 We went a different way to how we had come up the hill and found ourselves wandering around roads that seemed to meander up and down the hill rather than go down to the coast!\u00a0 Eventually we managed to find our way back down.<\/p>

We stopped for lunch in a very nice restaurant on the beach, only today we ate inside as the wind was still quite chilly.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The following day we made our way to Fuengirola.\u00a0 A couple we had met in Mazarron had told us about a car park at the bottom of a castle where you could park.\u00a0 We arrived not quite sure what to expect, but we found it was really nice and only \u20ac1 a night.\u00a0 The beach was only a short distance, you could see it from the car park.\u00a0 There were no services but they did have bins, and there were quite a few other vans there.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

First stop was up the hill to visit the castle.\u00a0 We got there half hour before it closed so had a quick look round.\u00a0 The views from the top were amazing.\u00a0 Parts of the wall were crumbling down but you could still get a feel for what it must have been like in it’s heyday.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Next we walked along the beach to the port, stopping for lunch along the way at one of the restaurants.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On the beach they had boats filled with sand that you could hire out for your BBQ.\u00a0 We thought this would be a great thing to do in the summer.<\/p>

We only stayed one night but this is definitely somewhere we would come back to when the weather is warmer.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
