After 25 days at Mazarr\u00f3n we were excited to be back on the road again.\u00a0 We set off for the Cabo de Gata, a National Park on the South East coast.\u00a0 As we came off the motorway we drove through some of the most stunning scenery we have seen so far.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The campsite we had picked was Camping Los Escullos which was quite near the coast.\u00a0 We were given the choice of two pitches, both were pretty small.\u00a0 Wike didn’t quite fit but we were only staying for two nights so we squeezed in.\u00a0 I was really surprised at how green the site was although it did rain both nights we were there.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I was hoping that we would get a really clear view of the night sky but, unfortunately, there was too much light pollution from the campsite lights.<\/p>

The next morning we took a walk to explore the area.\u00a0 The weather wasn’t on our side and the grey clouds and the landscape reminded me of Scotland, but without the rain!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Down at the coast we came across what looked like a little Castille, wo couldn’t go in as it was locked but we could walk around the outside.\u00a0 The rock formation was very rugged with the sea crashing into it.<\/p>

The beach had signs on it telling you how to get out of the current if you get swept out, definitely not a swimming beach.\u00a0 There was even a washed up boat!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This was a nice place to visit, escpecially if you like the peace and quiet and like to walk, for us two days was enough.\u00a0 Next stop was Malaga.\u00a0<\/p>

On route we stopped at Cafe Mena.\u00a0 This is the coffee place owned by the couple we had met when we were at Almerimar.\u00a0 \u00a0This time it was open and we had a tour of how they roast the beans and package them for distribution.\u00a0 Having bought a packet we headed off.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The first Aire we stopped at was full so we headed for the second on our list, this was also full.\u00a0 The lady who ran it was English and recommended a campsite at Torre Del Mar about 20km back the way we had come.\u00a0 When we got there we found it was in a really nice town,\u00a0 The campsite was a bit like shanty town with lots of full timers living there.\u00a0 The pitch was small, I’m beginning to realise this is a bit of a trend in Spain!\u00a0 Getting into the pitch was a real challenge as the road was very narrow but we managed it with Donald driving and me directing!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We walked into town to find somewhere to eat and came across an Argentina steak house where we had the best steak we have had so far in Spain followed by flambeed crepes .\u00a0 It was so good we went back the next night.\u00a0 We also found a cashpoint which was one of the ones that are free to use, this enabled us to restock our cash float.<\/p>

The beach was lovely with beach bars along it.\u00a0 This must be lovely in the summer.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
