Well that seemed a long winter.\u00a0 Another lockdown meant we have been grounded since December and it’s now April.\u00a0 We have had rain and snow but the sun has finally come out.\u00a0 We have now had our vaccinations and the world is slowly starting to open up again.<\/p>

Kim called and asked if we wanted to go away for the weekend so we thought… why not.<\/p>

This weekends destination is the Isle of Sheppey.\u00a0 Danny had booked us into Plough Leisure Park<\/a> for two nights, I planned a cycle route on Garmin, we loaded the van and set off.\u00a0 We synced out location so we could keep track of where we were on route, Kim and Danny were a little way ahead of us, then we hit the joys of the M25 in rush hour.\u00a0 I have not missed this!<\/p>

A few hours later, on what should have been a 1 1\/2 hour drive, we found ourselves travelling along a long narrow road when TomTom told us we had arrived.\u00a0 No camp site in sight so we reverted to good old google to find our campsite which was a further 1\/2 mile down the road.<\/p>

We arrived just as Kim and Danny were finishing setting up and feeling rather hungry, Donald and Danny set off on the bikes to find the nearest Chinese takeaway.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The next morning we set off on a cycle round the Island.\u00a0 Only I hadn’t checked the planned route very well and we found ourselves on a private farm.\u00a0 Turning back we looked on google for the nearest pub and came across The Ferry House Inn<\/a>.\u00a0 We managed to get a table outside and ordered lunch.\u00a0 The food was really good, but the portion was really small!\u00a0 Good job we weren’t that hungry.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We continued our ride back across the island to Minister seafront where we stopped for a fish and chip supper.\u00a0 In all the ride was 27.5 miles.\u00a0 Back at the site we had great plans of an entertaining evening but were all so shattered we didn’t come out again till morning!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The following morning Donald and left the campsite to visit Leysdown.\u00a0 \u00a0I had seen on Park4Night that you could park up here for the night for free so thought we would check it out.\u00a0 What a great spot.\u00a0 There is a caf\u00e9 where we had a very good breakfast butty and met up with some friends for coffee.\u00a0 We met some really nice friendly people and even joined their Facebook group, friends of Leysdown wall.\u00a0 We would definitely stay here if we visit Sheppey again.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
